Tiggi Dog
Welcome!Today, I will tell you all about a very certain animal's very special day. This animal I speak of as, you may know, is my dog and that very special day is her birthday. But not just any normal birthday. This is my dog, Tiggi's, first birthday. Exactly 1 year (in 3 days) has passed since she was born. What a milestone and yet she doesn't know. Let me tell you about her...
When Tiggi aged 8 weeks and 3 days, my family got into our car and drove a little way to Shamley Green (about 20 minutes away). We were very lucky to have the dog breeder live fairly close to us but some unlucky people don't like our next-door neighbours for example who had to drive 3 hours to Birmingham to pick up a smallish dog that would be howling constantly, unless it fell asleep - more on him later!
The weeks building up to getting Tiggi were exciting except we still hadn't settled on a name. We had ideas like Coco or her official kennel club name: Bijou (pronounced bee-zhoo) but we just didn't have it. Then suddenly, a wave came over my mum: Tiggi! We all liked that name so it stuck. What we hadn't realized is that our next-door neighbour's dog was called Ziggy so it was kind of awkward for a few days where we didn't tell next door about her name. I still remember the first day we got her; in fact, I remember the drive home. She sat in the back in a carry case with me, which the previous owners had torn but that came in handy anyway. She was howling and crying in the back until we got home! We invited people round to see her and everything was cool.
Fast forward a couple of days and she is taking her first steps in the garden; her second encounter with it. She was fascinated by the blades of grass and all of my now punctured footballs. She still loves the garden especially my trampoline which we used to pick her up her and put her on but now she can jump on it by herself. It's been a lovely year for my dog Tiggi!
