Day 28 Lockdown - Fascinating Facts Friday!

charles trippy (@charlestrippy2) | TwitterFascinating Facts

Friday!

Welcome back! Today marks another series start! From now on, every Friday will bring strange facts from my weirdest books including Ripley's Believe it or not. In those books, there are whole sections on strange things such as a person who tried to smuggle 146 iPhones through an airport in Hong Kong. Just wait for even more strange facts. Hope you enjoy!

A youtube star by the name of Charles Trippy has been doing roughly the same as this but on youtube and for much longer than me. In fact, he has not missed a day of film for 3933 days consecutively! He even filmed when he had to go under brain surgery twice. He makes videos on all sorts of things like yesterday, his wife dyed his hair blonde blindfolded. His channel 'Charles & Allie' receives around 300,000 - 400,000 views a video. My book contains a Q & A with him that I would like to share with you from 2017:

Q: What prompted you to make videos?

A: I originally started doing the videos online as a bet with my college roommate to see who got the most viewers, but then I started loving it. It's been 10 years now - 7 years of daily videos and 10 years on youtube.

Q: What would you say is your most unusual video?

A: Filming my brain surgery, just because I actually got to film the whole thing. I held the camera until my arm went down - no tripod. Once my hand went down (I was awake the whole time) the surgeon grabbed the camera because he knew how important it was for me to film, and he started asking me questions. He said my humor was still there and that I was still making fun of things. The fact you can see my brain makes this my most unusual video.

Q: What would you tell people interested in starting a youtube series?

A: Some people think that these daily videos are lies or fabricated, when in fact there's no producer. My friends, family, Allie, my dog - they're all real. It takes dedication, and it's a very stressful, unique type of work because youtube is a community that's never consistent... anyone can do youtube, but it's not for everyone.
